Can leaves be left in the water of a wildflower-style bouquet?

No. As with any other bouquet, leaves, flowers and grasses should not sit below the waterline. Plant material can start to decompose and encourage bacterial growth, especially in warm weather. Always remove any leaves that may sit in the water before placing your bouquet in the vase.
