Why are winter bouquets often more expensive?

Each flower requires specific conditions and temperatures to grow optimally. During winter, the supply of locally or regionally grown flowers decreases as growers focus on a more limited number of varieties. Other flowers are then imported from regions with warmer climates. As the supply of certain cut flowers becomes more limited while demand remains high, flower prices can increase during the winter months.
