Winter bouquets
During winter, homes and offices are often well heated, which makes the air dry and can shorten the vase life of cut flowers. Place your winter bouquet somewhere with a relatively stable temperature and keep it away from heat sources such as radiators. A cool spot away from draughts and direct sunlight will help your flowers stay fresh for longer.
A Christmas bouquet is specifically designed for the festive season and may contain colours, foliage and decorative elements associated with Christmas. A winter bouquet, on the other hand, reflects the winter season as a whole. A bouquet ordered in January may therefore contain seasonal flowers and greenery, but generally no longer includes decorations specifically associated with Christmas.

During winter, the supply of locally or regionally grown flowers decreases as growers focus on a more limited number of varieties. Other flowers are then imported from regions with warmer climates. As the supply of certain cut flowers becomes more limited while demand remains high, flower prices can increase during the winter months.

Depending on the flowers used, some arrangements can briefly tolerate cool temperatures of around 5°C, but below freezing, cut flowers are at risk of frost damage. Tropical flowers such as orchids are even more sensitive to cold and prefer higher temperatures. In freezing weather, a winter flower bouquet should therefore be properly protected and wrapped during transport.
During the winter season, warm, dark and deep colours are particularly popular. Burgundy, deep red, dark green and warm natural shades are excellent choices. As Christmas approaches, the characteristic colours and decorative elements of Christmas bouquets also become very popular.
